I know that you're a big Jet Blue fan, Joey.

It will be interesting to see how things play out for them this next year. Competitors are nipping at their heels, some financial things have changed for them, and rumblings of unhappy employees are starting to creep into the news.

The quality company deals with its issues head on and fairly. The industry will be watching to see what Jet Blue does.

Flygirl (YuHu):

Let's be honest. I've heard of two - at the most - cabin crewmembers that have been ticked off at jetBlue. One of them, you've commented on as well.

As for the competitors... the only real "competitors" are SWA and some small other carriers. SONG was the biggest threat to jetBlue, but its being elimininated.

SWA is the biggest west-coast rival.

As for long haul cross-country runs, I have NEVER been able to pay $210 roundtrip, nonstop, with ANY carrier, reguardless. JetBlue came boppin' along, and soon enough, those fares were commonplace. With most of the nonstop transcons being the legacies in the most trouble, it's going to be hard for them to profit and put up with the jetBlue name.

I have a feeling that jetBlue will grow wildly at LGB. I believe they will be the next Delta-at-Atlanta kinda think on more than one west-coast airport.

But you know what, power to them all.

YuHu: I'm flattered that you know so much about me to know I love jetBlue. I wonder how you figured that out? [end: sarcasm] :-)

Have fun, Yuhu...

and no matter what... SAFE flying!!

-Joey

Independence Air is the Mel Carnahan of airlines.

I'm a little curious, how much expansion can LGB take? Is there room to build a new terminal for JetBlue? Room to expand or add a runway?

I have no idea, so I'm asking.

Joe:

My mom's base is LGB.

They're a real, old-style airport. Not really a terminal, they use airstairs.

I guess you can say that expanding is possible, so long as not too many carriers join in the rush. Otherwise, you have overcrowding at a municipal airport; that would suck.
