Fasten Your Seatbelt, You Just Got an Oscar Nomination

When I read about situations like this, it reminds me how much fun it can be to be a flight attendant.

Hello Fly Girl, how you doing?
Look, don't even ask me how I found you, it was completely by chance while doing some research, and maybe you can give me some help.
I'm an English teacher from Brazil and I'm working on the creation of a book containing vocabulary hints for students to know what to do in some real-life situations, such as usual dialogues people have when they're on a plane -offering/asking for things, crew instructions and so on, things that could make everybody's life easier. I was wondering if you could use your flight attendant experience and give me some suggestions. Would you be kind enough to help me with that?
My e-mail is neypereira@gmail.com
Thank you very, very much in advance.

I love the blog that you have. I was wondering if you would link my blog to yours and in return I would do the same for your blog. If you want to, my site name is American Legends and the URL is:

www.americanlegends.blogspot.com

If you want to do this just go to my blog and in one of the comments just write your blog name and the URL and I will add it to my site.

Thanks,
David

Reminds me of the time i had a large group of guys travelling on the plane from one company, apparently it was the boss' 50th birthday and he had been 'keeping it quiet'. So when he was asleep, they came up and asked me if I would make a PA wishing him a happy birthday as we taxiied in.

Of course I did :p

Hello, I am a Flight Attendant that has been furloughed by American Airlines. I have been a F/A for over 20years and now on the street with my five year recall rights ending this Oct. We are asking that AMR and it Flight Attendant Union Extend Recall Rights but so far it has fallen on deaf ears. Please check out this blog and who is showing us support.

Hello,

I wanted to introduce you to an up-and-comer in the online travel sector that I am hoping you’d consider introducing to your readers. Launched last year, cFares is steadily winning over a “thumbs up” with other 3rd party sources in its ability to help travelers find low cost airfares. Most recently, Travel & Leisure Magazine picked cFares as “best for airfares” category in its annual issue on hotels (that also featured other best online deals). cFares was also selected as one of the “Top 25 Web Apps for Money, Finance & Investment.,” by Your Credit Advisor and Budget Travel Online noted that “cFares found lower prices in every instance.” With summer officially starting last week, there are still many folks who have yet to solidify their travel plans and might want to learn about cFares.

So, what does cFares offer consumers that is different and better than existing online travel sites?

cFares is the first and only online travel site with exclusive relationships in place that give consumers access to previously unavailable wholesaler (a.k.a. “consolidators”) inventory. cFares offer 2 types of memberships--Gold and Platinum. Gold memberships are free and give consumers access to these low airfares. cFares “Platinum membership” works like a Costco warehouse membership; People pay an annual fee but the savings more than pays for the nominal membership fee. For $50 annually, the premium membership gives members a few additional perks. For starters, a search for international airfares on cFares will in almost all cases yield a traveler the lowest airfares available anywhere online—sometimes with savings of several hundred dollars on airfares, and a name-your-price service actually unveils itinerary details before travelers have to purchase—essentially eliminating “blind buys.”

I wanted to see if you might be interested in an upcoming announcement that cFares is planning to make? cFares will be unveiling a first-of-a-kind, new user interface that will give travelers a dashboard view of availability and prices among carriers. The new user interface will give travelers transparency into airfare variability by departure time/hour, so that travelers can begin to make better purchasing decisions based around the hour of day they book for their airline tickets. Let me know if you are interested and I can arrange an advance briefing with cFares founder who can also give you an online demo for you to check out. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards,
Cathy Jolly

I envy what you do. I mean, you can go to distant places and get paid for it. I work in order to travel, dreamed of being a flight stewardess as well but never pursued it seriously. definitely your job has good perks.

I was on a short puddle jumper flight not too long ago, and one of the flight attendants kept all of us laughing with her jokes on the PA system. It was cute, it was a short flight, but I found myself wondering if the other flight attendants were ready to throttle her and shut her up. If she did the same routine on each flight....

LOL. This is a good way of easing the "tension" especially for the first time passenger. Another way to add humor in an "emergency" situation. Good work stewardess, you deserve your good name...but wait a minute, are you still in the "air" traveling?
