Snakes on the Plane

I've been hearing about this movie for what seems like forever, and it finally opened yesterday.

I haven't decided if I'm going to see it yet, so if you have, please post a comment about why I should or shouldn't go see it.

How do you feel about snakes?

I'd say that the movie is worth seeing during the opening weekend if you're able to go to a theater that you know is going to be filled with people who are going to have a good time and yell and scream at the screen. It's not a good movie, and I certainly wouldn't rent it, or see it in an empty theater, but it certainly was a good time.

And seeing the music video at the end of the movie was worth the cost of admission, IMHO.

First of all, I hate snakes. I mean, I REALLY HATE snakes. So I know that I will be closing my eyes for much of this movie. That's probably okay as long as I'm with someone who can tell me that it's okay to look.

I'm thinking that it may be a fun thing to do on a layover with some other crew members.

My sister said it was good, and we don't like the same movies.

Plus, she hates flying so she's always looking to kick the airline industry.

I'm going to say "Don't go see it".

Kids - this thing is never gonna win an Oscar, but for some fun, go see it. As I like to say, it was so bad, it was actually good.

There's nothing wrong with a fun, silly movie every once in awhile. Not everything has to have deeply profound meaning.

I think this is one that I'd want to see with other people, rather than ducking in to see it alone.

Okay, I'm sold. It's on my to-do list for the weekend.

So, fly girl, how was the movie?

Oh and Anonymous - it's not like the Oscars are some serious benchmark for good movies or something.

I haven't seen it, but my son has. He's 15. He said the movie fails to deliver much beyond the (minimalistic) plot-line. Even Samuel L Jackson fails to redeem it, apparently.

Applying the "this is someone else's opinion" filter, it's pretty hard to class this as a "must see" on that basis, though it might be a fair way to kill an hour or two.
